I would be happy to help w/ a newsletter. Or actually, this message forum is great if everyone would just post their announcements. It's a nice open forum that everyone can jump in and say whatever! I've gotten into the habit of checking it on the weekends, kind of like the 9:00 news!

Heard from Celia. She got her cast on Wed.

As usual, she sounds in good spirits! Take care Celia!

CHECK OUT THE REDBIRD FORUM FOR
"THE HARVEST MUSIC JAM & DINNER INVITATION! "

Thanks Peg, for letting me know about the page. How about Becky Gray? Is the page better?

Still waiting to hear from John if he can play. Now the 24th looks good to him.

But, as I said ... if we don't have music there is always Kareoke!

It could be that neither week end works for anyone. There is a lot going on for Halloween both weekends.

Just RSVP about Nov. 1. at the Redbird Forum. I'll be cooking if nothing else.

Yes, it was a good band call Jam Session? / Jam Staiton? There are 2 bands with simular names and the singer I am told was new! She could hit notes I can't even hear anymore! LOL!

This is the first time I've ever posted anything on this site other than an update on my profile. Had no idea any of this existed.

Susie Paris Delano...unbelievable. That's got to be Susie Paris, the amazingingly talented person I've not seen in forty years. Probably because that's how long I've been away from Alton.

Wish I could've attended the Reunion. Was already committed to checking out 1000 year old trees along the Cache River.

Hope no one was scammed by the Nigerian letter. They are actually quite common. Nonprofits I work with will get three to four a week.

Glad you found us Greg! Hope you all are planning on coming to my house on the 1st of Nov. If you are not exploring some river or something! (You can read about that in the Redbirds Forum.)

Everyn needs to keep clicking around on here! There will be even more links and things of interest as this is still a work in progress.

We are hoping to keep together often now that everyone is retireing or they are finally empty nested and can live again.

We've decided to have the reunion in 5 years. But, until then, I think we are looking at large events of interest that we can meet as a group and attend.

Sorry to hear that you get those Nigerian letters often. Hopefully, we shored that up. We will be asking new members to verify themselves before they come on and if any activity happens on other profiles we may decide to verify if people start to have activity that doesn't seem like them.

I'm slowly cleaning up the reunion stuff. We still can use help if there is an interest in doing such.

Martha is still needing help in reseaching our lost and deceased. There are things on the website to do. I still think a newletter would be fun and Marie has offered to help.

If there are other things you'd like to see on the site ... either run it past us or ... do it yourself! LOL!

Happy Bday to Pam again!

Let's all keep in touch!

BTW ... Bill Felkey posted something a while back that I'm not sure got noticed. At the moment it was at the top of this page.

I think he expressed how a lot of us felt post reunion. That is the beautiful song that went around the world and the blue hyperlink at the end of the post is how you get to it.

As many of us felt, this song and the way it was put together has shown people that we are in a place since the reunion that we are more united and that we do have classmates that will still stand by us! Check it out!

Thanks Bill!

Just my opinion, but I think we need to have the casual reunion in Alton. Grafton is too far to drive after drinking. Also think it should be the reunion and put more into it instead of the more formal one. Talk to Peggy for ideas. Wood River had a great reunion!!!

I agree with Rebecca about having the reunion in Alton.
Even though it has been a while since I have came to a reunion, I really enjoyed the 20 year class reunion that was held at the Holiday Inn at Alton. The mixer was there
Friday evening, the big party was Saturday, an I believe there was a brunch on Sunday. The nice part about it was anyone traveling from out of town they could get a room at the Holiday Inn and not have to worry about driving after having a drink or two. With the reunion being over a holiday weekend and classmates traveling from place to place is tempting fate that someone could get a DUI. Also, in our case we had planned a trip for that weekend
and I know many others do the same. Casual reunions are wonderful! My husbands class reunions are very casual anywhere from shorts to slacks.

Hey Everyone go to the Redbird forum and check out three things to do this weekend for free and be with your classmates.

Also, you will find episodes of CHICKEN MAN!

START A TOPIC YOURSELF.

OR PLAN OR ANNOUNCES AN OUTING AND INVITE THE CLASS!

GLAD TO SEE YOU ALL PARTICIPATING ON HERE AND MAKING SUGGESTIONS!

Thanks Michael!
Have you been on there yet?

I go in sometimes but, I haven't seen anyone on there.

As I said, I pulled a few people from FaceBook to try it out.

Maybe we ought to set up a time for everyone to stop in like 8PM Tues.

A few of us have things going on with the Wii Bowling at Chez Marilyn's this Monday!

Everyone is invited to come down and cheer us on! LOL!

11/10/09 10:19 PM #71

Norma Baron

Well.
First test failed! LOL!

We can try again.

Maybe later in the evening??? I just missed Marie. Her writing was still on there but, she was gone.

It is a great feature but, you almost have to pull someone in with you.

I'll go on the administrator forum and see how others are doing it.

It did work well with asking people I found on face book to come over and talk.

At the moment if you want to meet you friend on here to talk or you almost have to agree on a time before you go in or just pot luck.

I will bring up a page and go in there but, if you are not active on there it times out after a while. But, for now, You can try that and refresh your page when it times out by going out and coming back in.

Let's say if you are around at 10pm tomorrow night try doing the live chat again.

Of course you can use it any time but, not any fun with out a friend. LOL!

I would like to suggest starting a listing for class members business websites. Anyone engaged in a business that have a website could list it with their web address
and a short descriptive text describing their products or services. Whatta ya think?

Well, after a long vacation ... I am resuming working on website (along with Martha Kinsella (Leese), Steph and Doug Mendenhall.)

It was suggested a while back that we have a list of Alums that have a small business.

If anyone would be interested in adding their business to the list ... let me know and we will start it on Redbird Forum!  Will be glad to post your link on FB too.  (We have a group there.  Not as formal)

But, the group is linked to our website.

We now have this site for the next ten years.

Please keep up with any changes on your profile!

Thank you!
