Larry W. Pugh, 64, formerly of Alton, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in Edwardsville.

He was born on Oct. 9, 1946, in DuQuoin, Ill., the son of Don B. and Fern (Short) Pugh.

Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Elsa and Laren Zeller of Edwardsville, Illinois, one son: Mason Ocean of Edwardsville, Illinois, four grandchildren: Evan Zeller, Ava Zeller, Ellen Zeller, Audrey Zeller, four brothers and sisters in law: Roger and Lauren Pugh of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Ron and Gloria Pugh of Alton, Illinois, Don Pugh Jr. of Wood River, Illinois, and David and Melissa Pugh of East Alton, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

He was a self employed contractor. He loved his grandchildren and riding his bicycle. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be held from 2 until time of reflection services 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Private inurnment was held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Memorials are suggested to an education fund that will be established for his grandchildren and will be accepted at the funeral home.
