Kathy Korilko Grapperhaus' "Uncle Jimmy"
Posted Wednesday, October 21, 2009 07:06 PM

(Sorry, I never got "Unce Jimmy's" full name)  (I'm trying to piece together from old posts she's left on Face Book.)

"Uncle Jimmy, a godly man and proud WWII veteran, was buried today with full military honors. I'm blessed that my grandchildren witnessed this special expression of appreciation by a grateful country. May we remember to thank these vets when we meet them. There are less of them everyday." (This is from Kathy Koriko Grapperhaus' Face Book today)

A hard day ahead, needing your prayers. Visitation for Uncle Jimmy will be today at Kutis funeral home on Lemay Ferry, South St. Louis. While we rejoice in the birth of little Ellie Grapperhaus, we grieve our loss of Uncle Jimmy. The cycle of life is so hard at the time of death!

Hi Norma!

Thank you for thinking of my uncle (Mom's brother).  Forgot to mention full name--James Kocsis.  The Kocsis family (silent c) is Hungarian.  My mother is the last of the Kocsis clan except for relatives in Oroshaza, Hungary.  My grandparents and oldest aunt came to America by boat via Ellis Island.  Grandpa worked as part of the ship's crew to earn passage for his family.  He joined them in America once the debt was paid.

Kathy   I recently had a distant cousin pass away and while he had a full, long life- I will miss him.  We have been celebrating his accomplishments.  What was sad was what we didn't know about his life, but we will remember him with love.
