Donald E. Brockway, age 67, of Bethalto, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, at OSF Saint Anthony's Health Center in Alton following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 15, 1951, in Fairbanks, Alaska and was the son of the late Donald J. Brockway and Martha L. (nee: Daugherty) Brockway Gipson. Don was a 1969 graduate of Alton Senior High School and was employed many years as a truck driver. He retired from Yellow Freight and the Teamsters.

He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed canoeing, bicycling, fishing and hiking. Survivors include a brother; Ronald J. Brockway of Jacksonville, Florida, his dear friends; Pam Quina and Jane Harris and other extended family members.

In accordance to his wishes there will be no visitation and private cremation services will be accorded.
