Richard E. Halliburton

 

Richard E. Halliburton, 57, died at 8:44 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 14, 1950, in Alton to Jack McClain and Marjorie J. Liner. His stepfather was Charles Liner.

A 1969 graduate of Alton Senior High School, he worked at Laclede Steel and Steak 'n Shake. He was a member of Wilkerson Chapel in Collinsville.

He is survived by his grandmother, Ruth McClain; a son, Michael Paul Eugene Halliburton, both of Alton; three daughters, LaTanya Halliburton of Clinton, Ill., and Ashena and Ashley Cross, both of Alton; three sisters, Barbara Liner and Patricia Harrison, both of Alton, and Cheryl McClain of Chicago; a brother, Derrick McClain; two nieces and a spouse, Angel and Blaine Everage and Starla Liner; a great-niece, Shakari Liner; his companion, Lasandra “Missy” Cross, all of Alton; special friends, Karen Trone of Clinton and Mark “Spike” Mike, Rodney Mike, Mark Shorter, Main Caldwell and Therman “Red” Anderson Jr., all of Alton; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather and his grandparents, Edna H. Cornish, Dorothy Liner and John Floyd Halliburton.

Visitation and services were held at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Elder Gregory Harrison officiated.

Burial was at Upper Alton Cemetery.

Cathy M. Williams and Sons Funeral Home in Alton was in charge of arrangements.
