Cathy Marie (Travis) Saxton, 43, died Tuesday, May 2, 1995, at her home in Wood River.

She received a certificate for licensed practical nursing in 1993 from Sanford Brown College in St. Louis.  She was a licensed practical nurse and was employed at North Shore Health Center in St. Louis County.

Born in North Carolina Aug. 16, 1951, she was the daughter of Frank and Marietta (McEuen) Travis of Godfrey.

She married Joe Staxton Aug. 26, 1983, in Edwardsville.  He survives.

In addition to her parents and husband, surviving are three sons, Frank, Wesley and Jason Roberts, all at home; a daughter, Karen Roberts at home; two stepsons, Christopher Saxton of Tulsa, Okla., and Timothy Saxton of Wilsonville; a stepdaughter, Tracy Saxton of Wilsonville; and a sister, Cindy Mueller of Collinsville.

The Rev. Tom Anders officiated at the services at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.  Burial was in Upper Alton Cemetery.
