Leslie J. Albers (Schulz)

Leslie Jean Schulz, 72, passed away at 6:41 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital after a long illness with her family by her side.

She was born on May 26, 1951 in Wood River to Lester E. and Stella Maxine (Chapman) Albers.

Leslie married Donald J. Schulz on December 11, 1981 in Alton and they enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage to one another. Don preceded her in death on April 30, 2021.

Leslie was previously employed at Rosewood Care Center and at Mead Packaging for several years. But her favorite job was taking care of her home and family.

Leslie enjoyed doing needlework, playing with her pets and animals, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughter.

Leslie is survived by her son, James Brian Davis of Alton; daughters, Kirstin (Mark) Schulz of Godfrey, and Rebecca Schulz of Alton; a granddaughter, Miranda Walters of St. Louis; a sister, Rochelle "Chelley" Moore of East Alton; three brothers, Kim (Brenda) Albers of Dongola, Illinois, Gary Carter (David Kinder) of St. Louis, and Edwin Hollows of Wood River; and a special friend, Debbie Lewis of Brighton.

In addition to her parents and husband, Leslie was preceded in death by her brother, Eldon Hollows; and two sisters, Ramona Maronie and Alita Albers.

Visitation will be held at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 9:00 am until time of services at 10:30 am. Father Steve Janoski will officiate.

Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery immediately following services.
