Carol Elaine (Nicholson) Rawlings, 72, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024. She was born June 30, 1951, in Carrollton, IL, the daughter of Eugene and Leila (Fisher) Nicholson.

Carol worked as a bus driver and cash transport before retirement. She was known as a person who loved life and was the "life of the party." If you could remember anything about Carol, it was her big hugs and affectionate personality for everyone. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan.

Not only did Carol have many friends, but her favorite title was proud Nana. She loved her grandkids to the moon and back and took the most pride in them.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her two sons Ron (Barb) Rawlings and Randy (Kelley) Rawlings; her grandchildren, Miranda, Marissa, Brittany, Mallory, Leila, Gabe, Grady, Jenner, Ellis, Cruz, Charli and Ezekiel; great-grandchildren Drennan, Jaela, Carmen, Reagan, and Wyatt.

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make.
