Thomas Allen Smithee passed away on March 13, 2020, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 68. He was born August 4, 1951, to the late Allen and Doris J. (Schaffer) Smithee.

On June 4, 1982, Tom married the former Cheryl Ann Russell and she survives along with their children Kayla and Jeremy. Also surviving are his sisters, Carolyn (Smithee) Clark and Shirley (Smithee) Brandt. Additionally, he leaves step-sisters, Paula Raymond and Barbara Pitt and a step-brother, Gary Conrad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Nellie M. (Woods) Smithee.

As reported in Alton High Alumni Directory, Tom (also known as “Smitty”) had been a Business Office Manager for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and later a Real Estate Appraiser for Fox & Bubela, Inc. in Houston.

Following cremation, a Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the Jersey Village Church of Christ in Houston, Texas.
