Ricky Williams, 49, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, on his job at Bluff City Mineral Company in Alton.
Born April 9, 1951, in Alton, he was a son of the late Leon and Eddie Mae (Mason) Williams.
A 1969 graduate of Alton High School, he was employed for nearly 30 years with Bluff City Mineral Company where he was a demolition blaster.
Surviving are three sisters, Wanda and her husband, Randall Miller of Seattle, Wash., Colleen Williams of Minneapolis, Minn., and Connie Williams of Alton; four brothers, Gary Williams of Chicago, Rudolph Williams and Anton Williams Sr., both of Alton, and Byron and his wife, Annette Williams of Godfrey; a cousin, Allan Mason of Edwardsville, six nieces and five nephews.
His grandparents, Thomas and Earlene (Barnett) Mason, a sister, Renee Williams, and an uncle, Curtis Mason, preceded him in death.
Services were held at Morning Star Baptist Church and burial followed in Upper Alton Cemetery. Cathy M. Williams & Sons Funeral Home of Godfrey was in charge of arrangements.
