Samuel A. Ellis, 73, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at his residence.  

He was born on August 19, 1950, in Alton, IL. to William O. and Delores E. (Abernathy) Ellis. Samuel married Irena Dziadyk in Edwardsville, on October 24, 2003. She survives.

He was born on August 19, 1950, in Alton, IL. to William O. and Delores E. (Abernathy) Ellis. Samuel married Irena Dziadyk in Edwardsville, on October 24, 2003. She survives.

Samuel was a bus driver at Beverly Farm Foundation for 17 years before his retirement in 1983. He was a member at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey. He enjoyed baseball and loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved to play pool and was in a pool league for many years.

Along with his wife, Irena, he is survived by his children, Kristopher (Beth) Ellis of Bowling Green, MO, and Sara (Kevin) Telgmann of Byrnsmill, MO; grandchildren, Trenton Ellis, Alyssa Ellis, Sky Telgmann, Autumn Telgmann, and Summer Telgmann; and close family friends, Joyce (Gary) Schoenemann of Dorsey, IL, and Shane (Jessica) Schoenemann and their son Oliver of Bunker Hill, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Thelma Ellis; and a brother, Michael William Ellis.

A private burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
